Simply put, these cats make classic-sounding music, jammed full of delectable hooks, burnished guitar riffs and well-wrought harmonies. Last year, the band was honoured with a Juno nomination for Canadian breakthrough group of 2013.
Yukon Blonde is now coming hot off the release of their sophomore album Tiger Talk on Dine Alone Records around the world and have been touring non-stop ever since. From Australia to the United States, Germany to UK and Ireland as well as through Canada, the band has shared the stage with acts including Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Sheepdogs, City and Colour and many more.
Danceable and unrepentantly poppy, their new tracks evoke late-’70s/early-’80s post-punk and draw inspiration from artists like the Buzzcocks, Ramones and Talking Heads, while retaining the sun-dappled massive vocal harmonies that people have come to know from Yukon Blonde. Grilledcheesapolooza is proud to present Yukon Blonde as the Saturday night headlining act at this year's festival.
